Mr De Beer

Here you see a photo of Mr De Beer who was the leader of the Cape Peninsula Meccano Club located at the Claremont Congregational Church, Cape Town in the 1950s. He was a remarkable man, and inspiration to any young boy bent on a Meccano career. His best models were the fabulous block setter, the the bucket dredger, and the orrery. In this photo taken many years later, I show Mr De Beer my Meccano Asea robot in my home in 1983.
