This "Second Edition" has crisp, sharp photos, many of which are now in their original full-colour having been reproduced from the original artwork, with much higher quality than was possible from the black and white photocopy production of 30 years ago!
The cover for this edition has been "borrowed" from a book called The Way Things Work written by David Macauley. It is published by Guild Publishing London. It is arranged in four sections. Together they provide comprehensive coverage to the workings of hundreds of machines and devices — holograms, hang gliders, airliners, telephones, parking meters, robots, televisions, can openers, compact discs — how gears make work easier, why jumbo jets are able to fly, what the computer actually does.
A description of the "Current Cart" featured on our cover is given elsewhere under the book review section.
