About the Guild

A typical meetingRunnymede Meccano Guild was founded by our President, Nick Rodgers, in 1986. Our membership peaked at almost 200 members worldwide, many of whom meet three times a year at Liphook currently, to display their latest models, share model building tips, and purchase more Meccano.

The Guild meets three times a year, usually the first Saturday in February, July and October.

The February meeting regularly features a Meccano Auction, and there is always a good selection of interesting lots to go for.

At our July meeting the Runnymede Shield is awarded to the owner of the best model as voted for by our members.

The October meeting is our AGM, and it also features the Bill Roberts Memorial Trophy Competition. The trophy is awarded to the owner of the best model as voted for by our members.

Ted Muggridge, is our resident Meccano trader and he has a fantastic selection of original and reproduction Meccano parts.

Three times a year to coincide with the meetings we publish the Runnymede Meccano Guild Magazine, a 60 page full-colour publication which is generally recognised as one of the best Meccano magazines available. The magazine focuses on the needs of both the novice and the experienced modeller and topics range from news items, technical details of mechanisms to full-blown constructional articles.
